As a service to patrons of the Flossmoor Public Library, the Library provides a test proctoring service under the following restrictions:
The student must be a resident of Flossmoor.
The student must contact the Library at least one week in advance of the test date to request a proctor.
Scheduling of a proctored exam is dependent upon staff availability. Maximum length of a proctoring session is three hours. The staff member responsible for proctoring the exam may change mid-exam if library operations require it. The staff member proctoring the exam may not be the same staff member who signed agreements with the educational institution.
The proctors are not able to certify that all of the testing institution’s instructions and requirements were followed by the student. Proctors cannot provide continuous monitoring, nor will they be required to enforce the educational institution’s rules about prohibited materials such as textbooks, notes, calculators, etc.
Proctors are not able to interpret test instructions for the student nor assist in any technical manner with online tests.
The student will arrange with their school for the exam or passwords to be sent to the library.
The student will provide an envelope and adequate postage for mailing completed exams to the school/institution, a toll-free number for returning exams by fax, or a proper destination e-mail address for tests returned electronically.
The student must bring current photo ID and any needed supplies (pencils, calculators, etc.).
The proctor will provide an area for testing and periodically monitor the student.
The proctor will notify the student when the time limit for the test is reached.
Students may be provided with a library-owned laptop or desktop computer to be used for the test. No additional software will be installed by proctor or by student on library computers.
The student is responsible for the costs incurred by the library, such as photocopying or postage.
If the institution requires that a copy of the exam be kept by the Library, it will be kept for thirty days. Within the thirty days, if the student contacts the Library regarding loss of exam in the mail, the Library will re-mail the exam and keep a copy for another thirty days provided the student pays for additional copying costs, envelope and postage.
Students may reschedule an exam appointment once with at least one-day advance notice.
Students who do not keep or properly reschedule their scheduled exam appointments may not be allowed to reschedule.
