Library Security Monitor
Join a fun team at the Flossmoor Library! We are seeking a person to enforce the library behavior policy and provide security for the library building, grounds and collections. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Conflict resolution and ability to use diplomacy essential. Physical requirements include constant walking and standing. Responsibilities: Patrol library building and grounds. Monitor activities to ensure security of patrons, staff and grounds. Assist library staff with maintaining pleasant environment, closing routines, and related activities.
Requirements:
· At least one year of work experience with the public. Security experience a plus
· Applicant must be flexible, have excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with patrons and staff
· Ability to exercise good judgment under stressful situations
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to walk and stand for entire shift
· A high school diploma required
Hours:
Part-time, 10 - 15hrs/wk
Afternoon & Evening hours required
Position corresponds with Flossmoor District #161 school year (late August through early June, approximately)
Starting Salary:
Hourly wage starting at $11 per hour
